Rock The Walls

Rock the Walls is building the most comprehensive domestic abuse database in the world - a massive resource hub for victims and survivors. We aim to promote public and judicial awareness of the devastating impacts of abuse and coercive control on individuals and their children.

I'm Lisa Pinney-Keusch, Founder and Executive Director of Rock the Walls Foundation. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my incredible, unwavering family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues for their support, inspiration, and belief in RocktheWalls.org and its mission.

Hi, I’m Lisa!

Our Story…

For years, national news stories have continued to shock us with tales of domestic abuse that end in murder. There are so many more personal tragedies that mainstream media doesn’t cover and which no one ever hears about.

One of the headline stories occurred in New Canaan, Connecticut, five years ago. The disappearance and murder of Jennifer Dulos, mother of five, sent shockwaves of horror throughout the community. The heartbreaking circumstances surrounding her case became a grim beacon, illuminating the dark reality many face behind closed doors, and how our justice system fails to protect victims like Jennifer.

Her tragedy deeply affected me, and I was moved to align with advocates fighting for Jennifers’ Law: a landmark in criminalizing coercive control in this state. This personal journey from grief to action has intertwined my life with a community united in transforming adversity into a bastion of protection and change.

It was during this time that I had an epiphany:
My accumulated experiences, skills, and contacts from a career in music and event production, coupled with a decade of navigating through my own personal adversities, could be applied to help a great many domestic abuse victims. I would build a help center, a go-to portal where victims could find all the support, professionals, agencies, and organizations out there, all in one easy-to-navigate space!

This was the seed of Rock the Walls.

Since then, I have engaged with an incredible, international community of smart, strong, resilient women, men, and even children. Through them we’ve discovered scores of elusive resources, reports, platforms, and coalitions dedicated to supporting those traumatized by abuse, but also helping to reform a system that has failed to safeguard the rights and well-being of abuse victims and their children for far too long.

Then, there was music…

Music has been part of my life since the day I was born. My father was a musician and songwriter, part of the rock group, Steam, (“Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” - people still chant it at sporting events today!)

Twenty years later, I worked on events at Tavern on the Green. Later, I became the Event Director at the legendary Roseland Ballroom. For more than a decade, I worked alongside many celebrated artists, forming lasting relationships across the music, entertainment, and hospitality industries.

No surprise, then, that I’ll use music – big music, big concerts, big events, and big voices – to carry our message, reaching and touching people in a way only music can.

What better way to raise public awareness and funds needed to right this global wrong?
